 800 grams of tilapia fillets

 1 unit of yellow pepper

 1 unit of red pepper

 1 unit of onion

 3 units of tomato

 garlic to taste

 salt to taste

 1 unit of lemon

 dehydrated vinaigrette to taste

 50 milliliters of palm oil

1 glass of coconut milk (200 ml)

How to make Northeastern Tilapia Moqueca:

Start by seasoning the fish, so it can rest in seasoning, which gives it more flavor. Cut the tilapia fillets to medium sizes and season with garlic, salt, black pepper, dehydrated vinaigrette and the juice of a lemon.

Before slicing the spices for the moqueca, remove the skin from the tomatoes so that no lint remains in the sauce. This is very simple: just make an X on one end of the tomato with the help of a knife (as in the photo) and leave in boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from hot water and pull the skin, it will come out very easily.

Now slice the tomato, onion and peppers into uniform slices as shown in the picture.

In a large saucepan, arrange a layer with half the sliced spices: start with the onion, then the tomato and finally the peppers.

Continue assembling this tilapia moqueca recipe in slices: arrange the seasoned tilapia fillets in the pan, on top of the previous ingredients.

Cover the tilapia with the other half of the spices as shown in the photograph.

Now pour the coconut milk and palm oil over the fish and seasoning. Turn the heat on very low, cover the pan and cook for 30 minutes.

Tip: Do not stir the moqueca while cooking, as the fish is very delicate and may fall apart.
